Embedding Videos

To embed videos in your posts just paste the embed code from the video site into your post and use dohtml tags.

The embed link needs to have [dohtml] at the beginning of the embed code and /dohtml at the end with no gaps like shown in the example below.

You can embed videos from all the video sites like Megavideo, Veoh, Google, Guba, Stage Next, Daily Motion, YouTube etc.

Pssttt WD Don't tell anyone about the javascript embeds like on Divx vine that don't work on here...If only there was a site somewhere that could convert Java embeds to standard so we could use em.. tongue.gif

Another tip for embedding DivX is to manually change the resolution to that of the original file in the embed code, otherwise it embeds it at a default resolution, particularly annoying for widescreen videos as they end up with the aspect ratio all wrong unless you fullscreen them.

And another tip when giving tips is to briefly explain how you do it wink.gif biggrin.gif

Right click on the page and view the page source to find the original file for those of you who didn't know.

If the page has a lot of content and there will be a page with a big source code then narrow it down by highlighting the are with the embedded video and select 'View selected source' stage6/smiley_bigthumbup.gif

it will look something like width="450" height="367" to change the size of the player being viewed etc
