well, I finally added yesterday night the stage6pack.info features to allow people to re-create their profile and post where they moved their videos and pictures and blog, along with the listing of the places where users are meeting (including this one)
no, no hosting media- just the same profile as it was on stage6, and the capability to add a friends' list, plus showing other information
the free-the-hamster and the hamster-hell are to follow
but it complementary to these forums and the other one where few tens of users are congregating
http://ftfc.wetpaint.com, and the facebook group I created when I saw the posting
so, between the shoutboxes and the friends' list, the only thing missing is... the video hosting ;-)
I got messages from people on veoh and stage7, and on stage6 last night there was an advertisement about another system (a .tv, I think) that I never heard of, claiming to be DivX ready soon
well, weren't too expensive for hosting (and they charge *huge* amounts for traffic), a Sealand domain could be the a nice refuge from the legal vagaries
well, my first reaction seems confirmed by a blog I read about the legal action as the main issue behind the decision to stop; but I agree also on the quest from DivX for exposure of their DivX codec to OEM manufacturers, by having a huge amount of "free" DivX content and a large and faithful community- how many of you bought a DivX-compatible dvd player and the software and the DivXAuthor?

I added also a camera ;-)
