Chronology

▲ February 2008 - Stage6 hacked by The Anonymous Group and members passwords posted on the 4chan forum

▲ March 01 2008 - Stage6 closes it's doors and people can no longer gain access

▲ 25 Mar 2008 divxit.net is registered on calloftheday.net servers who are owned by a member of The Anonymous group who claimed responsibility for hacking Stage6. They launch the site with the message - “DivX Stage6 returns here on April 29th 2008,” and “Stage6 Alternative / Clone.”

▲ 30 April 2008 - divxit announces on the site that they will not be opening on April 29th 2008 but now May 6th and the new URL is VReel.net also added was a very short few lines of pre written Q & A

▲ May - 2008 You again fail the second open day and now simply say it will open when it's open.

▲ May 21, 2008 - You announce "by Vreel on Wed May 21, 2008 6:08 pm

Just a short one for today - we're currently prepping the Video upload & conversion system for beta testing, which should begin over the next 24 hours. Mails will be going out over this time to all successful applicants (50 in total).

The first beta test will simply be to upload a video, and see if it converts correctly. Simple enough, right?
Thankfully, this will allow us to see a lot - if our servers are queueing files and converting correctly, and that the file is being hosed onto our LLNW storage server. This will also allow us to see what codec's and filetypes (if any) are giving us issues, and of course, ensure that quality is upheld through the conversion process."

▲ May 24, 2008 Still no sign of a site or Beta testers?

DivXit gave the impression they were affiliated with DivX with messages like "thanks to DivX but DivX made a statement to say they weren't."

QUOTE
DiVx corporate told us it has no affiliation with upstart, and there is no contact information on the site.

Also note - DivxIT’s mystery founder also created the MyVideoTab.com website. MVT looks like a great resource for anyone who is interested in learning how to play cover songs off of the internet, but its ownership is also shrouded in mystery.

Those are from official news articles here -

http://stage6.18.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1408

It has since been made known he is an activist with the anonymous group stage6/smiley_chill.gif

Just to reiterate:

1: There is no such thing as "the anonymous group" , anonymous is a blanket term for anyone who doesn't use a username on any website, in particular the "chan" websites. Stating "the anonymous group" hacked stage6 is about as intelligent as stating "Europe hacked stage6", if a European was behind the attacks.

Well Dacovale being an activist really says nothing, I'm just going to let people see what they wanna see, No use arguing with the guy, if he lies it'll eventually come back to bite him in the behind, but if its all true, then I wish him luck in his endeavors, but so far it hasn't been professional, unlike he dissed about me, he hasn't provided anything, unless keeping people waiting is professional, Good luck anyways Dacovale.

Group - a group is defined as a number of people that meet regularly to talk or campaign about certain issues, yes that's right Anonymous is a group bruv stage6/smiley_chill.gif

Anonymous may be anonymous bruv but their is an issue that the followers of it campaign against and meet up to campaign against so you are a group who also claim responsibility for things like The Scientology Website attack and you make videos like these -

Anonymous - Second address to Scientology

Look like a group to me bruv and I don't like Scientology either stage6/smiley_chill.gif

Project Chanology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project Chanology, also called Operation Chanology,[4] is an ongoing protest against the practices of the Church of Scientology by Anonymous, a leaderless Internet-based group that defines itself as ubiquitous. The project was started in response to the Church of Scientology's attempts to remove material from an exclusive promotional interview with Scientologist Tom Cruise from the Internet in January 2008.

The project was publicly launched in the form of a video posted to YouTube, "Message to Scientology", on January 21, 2008. The video states that Anonymous views Scientology's actions as internet censorship, and asserts the group's intent to "expel the church from the internet". This was followed by distributed denial-of-service attacks (DDoS attacks), and soon after, black faxes, prank calls, and other measures intended to disrupt the Church of Scientology's operations. In February 2008, the focus of the protest shifted to legal methods, including nonviolent protests, and an attempt to get the Internal Revenue Service to investigate the Church of Scientology's tax exempt status in the United States.

Reactions from the Church of Scientology regarding the protesters' actions have varied. Initially one spokesperson stated that members of the group "have got some wrong information" about Scientology.[5] Another referred to the group as a group of "computer geeks".[6] Later, the Church of Scientology started referring to Anonymous as "cyberterrorists" perpetrating what they referred to as "religious hate crimes" against the church.

Some detractors of Scientology have criticized the actions of Project Chanology, asserting that they merely provide the Church of Scientology with the opportunity to "play the religious persecution card".[7] Other critics of Project Chanology's actions questioned the legality of their methods.[8] As Project Chanology shifted towards nonviolent protests and other legal methods, some people such as Mark Bunker and Tory Christman who initially criticized Anonymous's illegal tactics have spoken out in support of the project.

QUOTE
The challenge to Scientology arose sometime during early January, when an online group known as Anonymous declared war upon the Church of Scientology. Anonymous is a leaderless organization of people who meet on the internet and adhere to a code as long as they identify themselves as "Anonymous." In the past, Anonymous's activity has been mostly limited to internet pranks. Some "renegades" as one member referred to them, have issued threats and even carried out cyber-terrorism. When Anonymous first began its attacks on Scientology, it seemed as if the organization would stick to its code, which declares that "Anonymous is devoid of humanity." Most activity was centered around causing trouble for Scientology in any way possible.

this avoids the majority of sensationalism.
But I've gotta ask - why are we revisiting old topics over and over?

It's mentioned how similar to eon8.com a site that like Vreel hinted something big coming and gave a countdown to launch date just as an experiment.

Strangely you changed your Vreel name to Eoin on your new forum just before the eon8 information was posted -

user posted image

Which causes suspicious that Vreel is another eon8 based on a few facts including your similar name change and the similarities with Vreel and Eon8 including repeated failed launch dates stage6/smiley_chill.gif

About Eon8

Purpose of mysterious website Eon8 revealed

From Wikinews, the free news source you can write!
Jump to: navigation, search

Saturday, July 1, 2006
A screenshot of Eon8

On July 1, 2006 at Midnight Eastern Daylight Time, the purpose of the website Eon8 was revealed, turning out to be an experiment on how the public reacts to a lack of information. Eon8, prior to the revelation, was a website counting down to July 1 created by a 23-year-old web designer from Florida known only as "Mike". The bottom of the page featured links to other pages and a note on the "project status." Eon8 is often "offline" due to the heavy traffic it is receiving.

Links to other pages included a "deployment tracker," which featured a map of the world highlighting heavily populated areas, and "deployment logs," which were revealed to be arbitrary characters encoded in MD5. Going to eon8.com/security listed a series of rejected "referers"; accessing the website from a link on a website that has not been approved by Eon8 would result in a rejected "referer" page. Three other links on the main page were password-protected, however it was revealed today that there was no password. Anyone who managed to circumvent the password protection would find a page reading "This is a decoy folder. Please connect to the internal secure network."

Predictions of the purpose of Eon8 included the distribution of computer viruses, viral marketing, and an alternate reality game. Additionally, plenty of references were made to the Book of Revelations and the Third Reich. The website's popularity spread as a result of plenty of Internet communities reacting to it, including forum posts on 4chan, eBaum's World, Something Awful, as well as a page on YTMND predicting the purpose of Eon8.

Sound familiar?

I don't follow any religion but what fact do these videos hold except that they state "they're anonymous" does it really matter what they call themselves in any case whoever anonymous is or whatever they call themselves did somethings deemed as wrong, and Dacovale denies their involvement with his endeavor but, really the facts and obvious truth is they are, they are the people helping him and the people who are guests in here and fail to make comments about which is said because it would bring Dacovale down more.

For anyone who missed the Eon8 scam after advertising the site everywhere like Vreel has been this is what finally happened (Nothing)

Eon8 Timer Reaches Zero

All that remains now is the Eon8 forum with a very sad owner who is trying to get hists to his site and talking about generating hit's somehow and doing the same thing again.

The forum is crap and he badly wants visitors and talks about hit farms etc.

if your curious you can check it out with these log in details given by Demon Vid Junkie -

Out of interest I registered at the eon8 forum as you can't see it as a guest and I didn't think I'd get an email verification but I did and I activated my account and got in.

Turns out to be an average insignificant forum with little in the way of posts or visitors. One thing though is I really Digg those skins they are really nice.

http://eon8.invisionzone.com/

User name - rabbit111
Pass word - password

And as expected Anonymous can be found there talking about Scientology but not much talk going on and there's a private section but the guy is desperate for traffic which after the Eon8 scam he hasn't had -
